    Joe,

    Thanks for the photo's... My springs resemble the one in your photo, but it is then attached to an 1/8" steel rod.I attached the steel rod end to the bracket on the bottom of the folding top and then went straight down and attached the spring to a hole in the back... I did this on both sides...

    Ann-- Since you have your spring, could you measure how ling they are?? I have heard before here that it's a 5/8" and a 3/8" but how LONG are they? And is the bigger one hooked to the pilot assembly or the back cover? Thanks!

    Does anyone know of a place to purchase an additional protector thing, sorry Sam, for the folding cover? Mine has one but I would to get a couple more just to keep the rest of hinges from contacting the chrome top.
